The Carlisle Bison improved to 4-3 on the season with a 48-0 win over Hampton on Friday night.

With the win, the Bison remained tied for second in the 2A-4 standings at 3-1 with Bearden.

“First, I want to say hats off to Hampton,” Carlisle coach BJ Harrison said. “They only had 12 players, and their kids fought hard. I’m proud of how our kids performed in all three phases of the game. That was our best performance.”

Next week the Bison host undefeated Baptist Prep, which manhandled Bearden last week 63-12.

“Next week, have the undefeated Baptist Prep Eagles coming to Carlisle,” Harrison said. “I know our kids are fired up for the challenge.”

Stats from Carlisle’s win over Hampton are sketchy because of a nationwide issue with the HUDL program that most teams use to film their games and do stats.

Carlisle quarterback Michael Spignola passed for at least two touchdowns. Josh Elliott caught one of the passes.

Remington Giselar and Spignola each scored rushing touchdowns. Spignola and Mason Boyle each had interceptions on defense for the Bison.

Carlisle’s game with Baptist Prep starts at 7 p.m. at Fred C. Hardke Field.
