The Des Arc Eagle Band held their annual awards banquet on May 4th. A good size crowd of students, parents, staff, and band supporters showed up at the banquet to support the Eagle Band.

Band Director Kathryn Rose presented students in each grade Most Improved and Outstanding Student awards for Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion.

Students were also presented “People’s Choice” (student chosen) awards for Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion.

The Band Council presented a slide presentation showcasing the year’s activities, including football and basketball games, competitions, parades, and fun times. They also presented Mrs. Rose with a gift basket from the band students.

The eight seniors were presented their blankets (given every year) that show their name and instrument. Mrs. Rose also gave them gift bags which contained a mug, made by herself, and a commemorative scarf, crocheted by her mother.

Special awards presented by Mrs. Rose were 10th grade “Eagle Impact Award”, 11th grade” Eagle Spirit Award”, and 12th grade “Eagle Foundation Award.”

Baylee Partain was presented with the Director’s Award. Maddox Ward was presented with the Patrick S. Gilmore Award. Will Spratt was presented with the John Phillip Sousa Award.
