The Carlisle School Board voted at its April 13th meeting to name the Field House in honor of James Clayton. A special presentation will be made at the Bison Athletic Banquet on May 12th.

Clayton retired as Carlisle’s head football coach after the 2002 season, taking with him a 14-year record of 151-28-2 that included four state championship game appearances.

Board officers were elected and the positions remained the same. Jereme Carter, president; Brandon Parker, vice-president; Shari Crouch, secretary; Whitney Jones, dispersant officer; and Mandy Brewer, alternate dispersant officer.

Terms for board members were determined. Jereme Carter and Whitney Jones will serve two

years with terms ending in 2028. Brandon Parker and Adam Ellis will serve four-year terms which will end in 2030. Shari Crouch, Mandy Brewer and Megan Perkins’ terms are six years and will end in 2032.

In other board business:

– A low bid for the mowing contract was awarded to Saline Mowing Company for 2026-27;

– The board accepted the retirement of Monica Cavi- ness as art teacher in high school; and

– Resignations effective at the end of the school year were received from Kristen Murphy Coats as special ed teacher and Taylor Busick as building test coordinator.

Thirteen students qualified to attend the FCCLA National Convention in Washington, D.C. from July 6-10, 2026.

May 11th is pre-K graduation and Kindergarten graduation is May 15th. Sixth grade graduation is May 18th. The Elementary School Talent Show will be May 12th at 9 a.m. in the elementary school cafeteria.
