Two high-profile Republican races for county office in Prairie County were clearly decided on Tuesday night (March 3).

Des Arc School Board President Johnny Reidhar defeated Prairie County Judge Lawrence Holloway by a 1241-414 vote (74.52% to 25.48%).

For Prairie County Sheriff, Jeffery Bokker beat two GOP opponents – Robby Higgs and Joe Mills – with 62.61% of the vote. Mills received 24.07% and Higgs earned 13.31%.

Neither Reidhar nor Bokker have Democratic opponents in the fall, but they won’t take office until January 1, 2027.

In Hazen, a contested school board seat went to banker Cody Snider over Judy Foot. Snider received 458 votes to Foot’s 445 for a 50.72%-49.28% margin.
