On Wednesday, August 26 there was a groundbreaking ceremony for the new cabins that will be built in Des Arc.
Delta Rentals owned by Clark McCarley of Little Rock has plans to build short term rentals on the banks of the White River in Des Arc. Construction will begin immediately on three cabins with more to follow. The physical location of the site is 415 Ambrose Street.
The Des Arc Chamber of Commerce helped Delta Rentals to host the groundbreaking. Among those attending were the Mayor of Des Arc Roger Scott, State Rep. Roger Lynch, R-Lonoke, City council member Keith Knupp, incoming County Judge Johnny Reidhar, and Chamber President Rita Dobson. Mr McCarley’s wife, sons and parents were also in attendance.
The city of Des Arc recently sold the property to McCarley after it was purchased from ArDot. The city cleared the property and prepared for the potential sale. Delta Rentals has built several hunting properties around the area.
The cabins will be 2 and 3 bedroom with kitchen facilities, and will be available for rent in November. Some of the marketing opportunities include hunting trips, fishing weekends, and even out-of-town guests for a wedding.
More information will be available as the project nears completion.
