Carlisle School Board met February 9, 2026, and voted to re-hire Principals Megan Aukes, High School, and Dr. Hope Bratton, Elementary.
In other business the calendar was extended to May 18, a full day, and May 19 for a half day to make-up for the missed snow days.
The damage from the snow and ice may reach $25,000 from a collapsed awning hitting and damaging an HVAC unit. An insurance adjuster will inspect and give an estimate.
The Cheerleading Constitution was tabled until the March 9 meeting when the sponsors can be available. There were questions about selection of captain and attendance at away conference basketball games.
Cheerleading try-outs will be March 19.
The Dance Team Constitution was approved.
A full discussion of the Third Grade Retention Law will be held at the next Board meeting. Board members expressed concern about how this will affect both students and parents and the transparency being provided. Other questions dealt with student test preparation, remediation and student involvement.
The Board discussed the effects that home schooling has had on the district and the possibility of re-gaining some of those students. At present there are about 30 students being home-schooled. Those on Connect Care are considered Carlisle students.
Collin Mealler is K-2 Student of the Month. Emma Marchese is 3-6 Student of the Month and Tammy Morganstern Is Staff Member of the Month.
Elementary is celebrating American Heart Month February 9-12. Each day has a different activity to honor the event.
Elementary Interim testing will be February 16-20. Parents are encouraged to prepare their students at home to do their best at school.
Board members present were Jereme Carter, Shari Crouch, Brandon Parker, Megan Perkins and Adam Ellis. Absent were Mandy Brewer and Whitney Jones.
