The Hazen Lady Hornets came to England Thursday (Feb. 5) for the makeup game from last week’s snow and ice, but the England Lady Lions started hot and stayed warm to cruise to a 62-32 victory.

In the first quarter, England jumped to a 16-7 lead at the end of the first. England was led by Kamon Raynor with 9 in the quarter including a three-pointer, followed by 5 from Peyton Binns, and 2 from Avery Edwards. Hazen was led with 3 apiece from Melody Schlenker and Kiera Anderson, and 1 from Jalynn Thomas on a free throw.

In the 2nd quarter, England outscored Hazen 18-8 in the quarter to take a 34-15 lead into halftime. England was led by Raynor’s 10 points and getting 2 apiece from Jayla Parker, Journee Reed, Kynnli Chaten, and Arius Malvin.

Hazen was led by London Smith with 4 in the quarter, and 2 apiece from Anderson and Schlenker.

In the 3rd quarter, both teams scored at will as England outscored Hazen 22-13 to take a 56-28 lead into the final quarter. Hazen was led by Smith’s 6 in the quarter, followed by 4 from Schlenker, and 3 from Thomas on a three-pointer. England was led by 7 from Raynor, 5 from Chaten, 3 on three-pointers from Parker and Reed, and 2 apiece from Binns and Malvin.

The final quarter was low scoring as England outscored Hazen 6-4 giving the Lady Lions a 62-32 victory. In the quarter, England got 3 from Raynor, 2 from Malvin, and 1 from Binns, while Hazen got 2 apiece from Anderson and Khloe Isbell.

For the game, Hazen was led by Smith with 10, Schlenker with 9, Anderson with 7, Thomas with 4, and Isbell with 2.
